Streaming giant Netflix continues to invest large sums of money in making movies, while being frustrated by the fact that it is banned from prestigious awards ceremonies because of those movies that go directly to its streaming service.

In particular, Netflix has been in a high-level fight with the Cannes Film Festival who saw him choosing to escape the next event. And, although he was a little more lucky with the Oscars, he finds his films banned in movie theaters and thus struggles to get space for award campaigns.
Thus, Los Angeles Times reports that the company has actively considered buying its own chain of cinemas as a consequence.
He is said to have been horrified by the idea, but apparently seems to be looking at the Landmark theater chain in Los Angeles. It seems that the business is disabled, and the obstacle is that the price is too high. But, nevertheless, it gives an idea of the lateral tactics he had in mind. If he had completed such an acquisition, he could have also contributed to attracting filmmakers who were still interested in seeing their films in cinemas.
