Managed security provider MessageLabs has released a small business version of its solution, designed to provide enterprise-class security to smaller businesses.
MessageLabs Small Business Solutions is aimed at small and medium businesses and offers the company’s skeptical technology to protect against viruses, trojans, spam and phishing attacks.
In addition to protecting against these threats, the MessageLabs solution also provides companies with URL filtering, allowing companies to exclude their employees from unwanted or unnecessary websites.
It is available as «Email Security», «Web Security» or «Web and Email Security». An email package update is also available that allows companies to set and enforce email usage policies.
Prices for the «Email and web security» offer start at GBP 4.50 per user. We were told that this represents a 25% reduction in the list price of these services.
MessageLabs says small businesses are at the forefront of the avalanche of spam, receiving twice as much spam as medium-sized companies and a third more than large ones. In addition, small businesses are often less well positioned to protect themselves from online threats and are less likely to have full-time IT staff dedicated to the task.
