If you are not comfortable editing the keys in the Windows registry, you can enable the option of scanning network drives with PowerShell. There is less risk when using PowerShell and you will not have to worry about the potential manipulation of critical system settings. If you’re using Windows 10 Professional or Enterprise, the easiest way to enable network mapped drive scanning is through your on-premises Group Policy Editor. Set «Run full scan on mapped network drives» to «On» and click «OK» to save the changes.
All changes have been saved and will take effect immediately. You can now close the Group Policy Editor and do not have to restart your computer.
To turn off mapped network drive scans, go back here, double-click the «Run full scan on mapped network drives» setting, and change it to «Not configured» or «Off.»
