Sharing contacts between iPhone and a Mac is easy, as both devices are synced to the Apple cloud. But did you know that you can also share iPhone contacts with one Each with Windows 10? We will guide you through it!
For this guide, we do not use third-party tools specifically developed for exporting contacts. Instead, we’ll show you two methods that are available on iPhone and Windows 10. The first method involves Apple’s iCloud service, which is the best option if you need to export multiple contacts.
The second method is based on email. You do not need a specific email client – Gmail, Yahoo, iCloud, Outlook, etc. works well. We’ll show you how to download and download your contacts through Windows 10 Mail.
Export contacts via iCloud
To use this method, your contacts must be synced with iCloud. It is the best way to export contacts in bulk.
To get started, open the «Settings» app on your iPhone. Your location on your phone may differ from the one shown below; use Spotlight search if you can’t locate it.
In the «Settings» app, tap your name at the top of the screen, then tap «iCloud» on the next screen.
Check that «Contacts» is turned on (green) and syncs with the cloud. Otherwise, tap the switch to turn it on and sync your contacts.
Then open a browser on your Windows 10 computer and log in to iCloud site with your Apple ID. Click ‘Contacts.’
Select a contact on the next screen. If you want to export a single contact, click the wheel icon in the lower left corner, and then select «Export vCard» from the pop-up menu.
If you want to export multiple contacts, first click on a single name. Then place your mouse cursor over the final contact you want to export, press and hold the Shift key, and then click the last contact. Click the wheel icon and then select «Export vCard» from the pop-up menu.
By default, the VCF file is downloaded to the «Downloads» folder on your computer. Right-click on the file and select «Open» from the pop-up menu.
Then select where you want to install your contacts. Your options include Outlook, People, and Windows Contacts. After making your selection, click «OK» to import your contacts.
Export through the Contacts application
This method sends your contacts to your Windows 10 computer via email. However, the biggest disadvantage is that you can export only one contact at a time.
Touch «Contacts» on iPhone to open the «Contacts» app (it may be in a location on your phone other than the one below).
Then tap the contact you want to export. After the details are uploaded, tap ‘Share contact’.
Touch an email application from the pop-up menu that appears to send the contact to your Windows 10 computer. Fill in the details in the email and then send them to you.
When you receive the email on your Windows 10 computer, right-click the VCF attachment, and then click «Open» in the pop-up menu. Again, your options are Outlook, People, and Windows Contacts.
Repeat these steps for each additional contact that you want to import into Windows 10.
