Chrome’s standard zoom settings are easy to change, allowing you to quickly tell your browser how to reduce or enlarge various websites. You can also set a default font size to create a more enjoyable browsing experience.
How to set a default zoom level for all Chrome websites
Click the three vertical dots at the top right of the Chrome browser. In this drop-down menu, click «Settings.»
Scroll down to the «Appearance» section. Open the «Enlarge Page» drop-down menu and select the zoom setting that best suits your needs. You can also adjust the default font size of Chrome from the drop-down menu just above the Page Zoom. This will apply to every website you visit in Chrome, unless you’ve already set a certain zoom level for that site by following the steps below.
How to set a default zoom level for a website in Chrome
Click the three vertical dots in the top right corner of Chrome. In this drop-down menu, click the Minus (-) or Plus (+) icons to zoom in or out, respectively.
You can also use these keyboard shortcuts to quickly set a default zoom for a website. Press Ctrl on Windows and Cmd on Mac while doing any of the following:
- Scroll in or out with the mouse.
- Press the minus (-) or plus (+) key.
- Press zero to reset the zoom level to 100%.
How to manage zoom settings in Chrome
Click the three vertical dots in the top right corner of Chrome, and then select «Settings.» Click «Advanced» and then select the «Privacy and Security» option.
Scroll down and click «Site settings.»
Now find the «Zoom Levels» option. In this menu, you can see the custom zoom levels that you have set for a specific website. Click the «X» icon to remove this setting. Chrome does not currently allow you to set zoom levels here.
