If you purchased an OEM computer and for some reason need to reset it to factory settings, this message will show you how restore the factory image in the PC Windows 10 OEM through the recovery option. You may need to go through this step if you find that your computer’s operating system is completely locked and is the best option to reset all settings.
The first thing you want to try is the PC Refresh and Reset option. If this does not resolve your issue, the path to follow would be to clean, install Windows 10, or restore the factory image.
Reset and restore the image and factory settings
When you purchased your new computer with Windows 10 preinstalled, it included a factory image installed on a separate system recovery partition. A factory image is a «clean» copy of your operating system with all the necessary drivers and programs preinstalled. I put the word clean in quotes, because most of these images are packaged with Crapware. However, if you need to return to Windows as it was installed, your computer allows you to restore your computer to this image.
Before you begin, you must copy all data, files, personal folders, etc. on an external hard drive or USB. When you’re done, make sure you’re connected to the network,
Now to start restoring your PC to the factory image, from WinX menu , open Settings> Update & Security.
In the left panel you will see Recovery . Click on.
Here you will see a button Restart now , low Advanced start . Click on.
Your PC will restart in Advanced Boot Options and you will be shown a blue screen asking you to choose an option.
Please select Troubleshooting , and on an OEM computer, you will see the following three options, one of which will be Factory image restoration .
Clicking Factory image restoration , your computer will restart and try to restore the system software to a saved system image.
Once the process has started, you will not be able to stop it.
You will need to be connected to power to begin this process. If you are in battery mode, the restore will be interrupted when you restart.
NOTE : If you can’t get to the desktop, you can press Shift And later press Restart from the login screen itself to get to the startup and restart settings screen. Then, by clicking a few times, you will be able to access the troubleshooting screen. Since then, you can perform the above process.
