Remember Facebook Groups, an application launched in 2014 for managing social media groups? Not? Well, that’s why it’s over.

In a statement, Facebook explains that it will disable Groups for iOS and Android – You will not be able to log in after August 25, 2017. It has already been removed from the App Store and Google Play. Of course, your groups will be available in the main Facebook app.

As pointed out TechCrunch , groups had many limitations: there was no single source of news for groups; There was no way to organize them into collections for easy access; and there was no universal investigation. In addition, he had been very upset in recent months, «several times to the point of being unusable,» so it was only a matter of time before it ended.

Facebook has also shut down another app, Lifestage, a Snapchat clone launched less than a year ago. He did not need a social network account: the user logged in, selected the school where he studied and viewed the video profiles of other close people.

Lifestage is intended for users up to the age of 21; In fact, if he were older, he could only see his own profile. (However, there was no mechanism to verify his age.) Of course, Facebook no longer needs a dedicated app to compete with Snapchat: Instagram Stories and Status. WhatsApp they already have more users.
