There are three variants on the market of monitors with LCD technology:

  • Twisted Nematic (TN): It is the cheapest type of LCD screen that can lose resolution in very fast animations.
  • Super Twisted Nematic (STN): It is a more advanced type of LCD screen that improves the resolution in images that go very fast. Improves viewing at angles greater than 160º.
  • Guest Host (GH): this type of screen is characterized by the content in the liquid crystal of a pigment known as GH which is responsible for light absorption, improving the work in different colors.

The minimum resolution of this type of monitor has a definition that varies from 1280 x 720 pixels to 3840 x 2160 pixels.

  • Resistive screens: They are very precise and durable, because their operation is not affected by dust or water. However, they are thicker than usual and have less screen brightness, although they support the use of a pointer or finger.
  • Capacitive screens: In this case, the screens have a superior color quality. On the other hand, they accept the use of several fingers at the same time, (this is what is known as multitouch), but they do not accept the use of any indicator, but a specific one.
  • Infrared displays: They have an infrared light surface. It allows it to be touched with your fingers or any other object, although they are more expensive than the previous ones.
