7 Ways to Control Your Android Mobile Phone From Your Computer

7 Ways to Control Your Android Mobile Phone From Your Computer

There are several reasons why it is sometimes necessary to control Android from your computer. For productivity issues, such as replying to notifications and messages on the same computer. Or maybe remote control so that someone on the other side of the world can help you with a problem.

The programs listed below will allow you to project your mobile phone screen on your computer as well Control it with your mouse and physical keyboard. Via USB or wireless connection. Having both computers under the same WiFi or remote network. They are compatible with Microsoft Windows, Linux or Mac systems.

Control your mobile phone from your PC: The best APPLICATIONS

Windows 10

If you have a Windows 10 PC (for Windows 7 and later or other operating systems, see the rest of the alternatives below), you can try the Connect app I’m talking about here, which is already built into this system, so you won’t have to to install something extra. However, this tool offers limited control only with keyboard shortcuts.

Another option for this operating system and where you can freely control your mobile phone with your computer mouse and keyboard, is Microsoft your phone, one of the best tools to integrate your mobile phone and PC, because in addition to the fact that you can design screen and control it, sync your photos, answer messages and notifications, copy and paste text between both devices, answer calls on your computer, and more. Its disadvantage is that at the moment it is only compatible with Samsung devices with Android 9 or later.

Manufacturer’s PC suite

Samsung Mirror Flow Screen PC 2

Before trying third-party programs, such as those listed below, find out if your mobile phone manufacturer offers desktop software to control your mobile phone from your computer. For example, Samsung offers its excellent Samsung Flow program, which in addition to allowing you to view the screen in high resolution, control the sound source and connect wirelessly or via USB cable, you can control your mobile phone by clicking the mouse or operating with a computer keyboard. Certainly, the desktop client Mi PC Suite (Xiaomi) or HiSuite (Huawei) offers a similar option.

Vysor

One of the best third-party applications to control Android on your PC. Especially for the simplicity it offers.

If you buy the paid version, there are some interesting options. For example, you can put your mobile phone in full screen on your computer. There is also wireless connection mode. Another PRO feature is the Android remote control option on the PC. You can share the screen with someone on the other side of the world if you want.

Perhaps its small disadvantage is how technical the initial setup is. You need to enable USB debugging on Android. You also need to install the mobile ADB drivers on your PC if you have a Windows system. Finally, Vysor is installed in the computer’s Google Chrome browser (Windows, Linux, or Mac), is run, and the mobile is connected to the computer using the USB cable. If you have any problems, check out my Vysor tutorial here.

The advantage is that once Vysor is set up, next time you just need to connect your mobile phone to your computer and you’re done.

Scrcpy

Probably the same or even better than Vysor, because it is open source, completely free and without advertising.

In this case, you will also have intuitive control of the mobile phone using the computer mouse and keyboard. You can also copy and paste the clipboard between both computers.

Scrcpy can be even better than Vysor, because, for example, you can make a wireless connection without paying anything, which does not happen in the second.

You can also record your mobile phone screen while connected to your computer, use various commands to change the resolution, transmit only part of the screen, connect multiple devices, and more. It is a very powerful and customizable tool, which more advanced users will appreciate.

It’s not at the top of this list because its configuration requires ADB, which you may not be familiar with. In addition, the process is easy:

  1. Install the minimum ADB on your computer.
  2. Download and extract the Scrcpy ZIP code in the same ADB folder.
  3. Run ADB and enter «scrcpy». Intelligent.

If you have officially installed ADB, run a command window in the folder extracted from the tool and enter «scrcpy» in the same way.

AirDroid

Another application to manage Android on the PC that I have tried for a long time and it works quite well.

You can control your mobile phone from your browser or desktop client. The second option is the best, because you will have all the functionalities for a better experience.

By working with an account, you can control your mobile phone from your PC wirelessly, locally (the same WiFi network) and apparently remotely. This way, you can remotely control your Android from a PC elsewhere.

AirDroid is easier to configure. All you have to do is install the software on your mobile phone and computer (or instead of installing it on your computer, go to web.airdroid.com) and log in with the same account on both computers.

Mobizen

A very similar program to AirDroid to manage Android on your PC. You enter your account in the Android application and on your computer (browser or desktop client) and that’s it. In the same way, this means that you can control your mobile phone wirelessly from a PC on the same WiFi network or also remotely, apparently.

The nice thing about Mobizen is that it frames the image in a frame that has the shape of a mobile phone. You may like this if you plan to record a tutorial on how to do something on Android.

Unfortunately, the Mobizen screen mirroring service will disappear in 2022.

Other

There are different programs than the previous ones, such as DeskDock. Allows Android control on your PC, but in a different way. The mobile phone becomes a second computer screen, controllable with the same mouse and keyboard. The computer cursor moves between the two computers. In any of them you can click and type with the keyboard. The difference from DeskDock is that the mobile phone screen cannot be seen inside the computer screen, as is the case with other programs. Its initial setup is not as simple as in previous cases. Here is a step-by-step tutorial for setting up DeskDock.

If you’re looking for something simpler, such as just typing with your computer keyboard on your mobile phone, try this keyboard online.
